Support the full life cycle of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems for advanced semiconductor fabrication equipment, from concept to productization including conceptualization, engineering calculations and analysis, CAD modeling, risk and failure analysis, test/validation, documentation, and release Define project schedule, work breakdown structure and milestones to drive concept to production lifecycle Conduct detailed hand calculations including structural, thermal, heat transfer, stress, vibrations, fluid and gas flow dynamics, GD&T and tolerance stack-up, and manufacturability to properly specify designs, and support using computational modeling and analysis when required Selection of OEM components and materials Prepare high-quality reports and technical presentations to clearly communicate design intent, evaluation, and validation to local and global cross-functional teams in design reviews Ensure design, documentation and BOMs align with SEMI, Lam standards, and industry best practices Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure solutions can be manufactured with high-quality, cost-optimized, and to requirements Provide key deliverables including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), RCCAs, 8D reports, DFX assessments (cost, reliability, manufacturability, etc.) Define test procedures, and participate in assembly, build and test verification Address problem reports and issues observed during the manufacturing, assembly, installation and operation of equipments Provide technical guidance and mentoring to more junior engineers Develop and engage in hands-on learning in the hardware lab Be a key contributor to Lam's Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio Educational Qualification: B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech (Mechanical Engineering) Years of Experience: 6+ years of relevant experience Proficiency in design, development, and integration of mechanical parts and sub-assemblies for capital equipment, using structural, pressure drop, and thermal calculations and analysis Hands-on design and testing background coupled with solid engineering and problem-solving skills Working knowledge of FMEA (failure modes & effects analysis), DFX (design for cost, manufacturability, assembly, reliability, safety, testing, serviceability), and problem-solving techniques (RCCA, 8D, 5Why, Fishbone) Manufacturing knowledge in metal machining (conventional & non-conventional), welding, and, sheet metal fabrication Highly proficient in one or more 3D CAD tools such as CREO, Siemens NX, ProE, SolidWorks, etc. Strong project management, communication and technical presentation skills Experience in Semiconductor industry is a plus
