This role offers a unique opportunity to help drive TI’s company-level media relations strategy and shape public narratives while also driving the issues communications strategy and response process at TI. The ideal candidate will be a strategic communicator with strong media savvy, sound instinct for connecting dots to uncover stories that resonate with media, and have experience navigating matrixed, global organizations to generate positive, high-profile earned media coverage while protecting TI’s reputation. The ideal candidate will have strong communications skills and experience in media relations, crisis communications and public relations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to 

  • Corporate media relations strategyDevelop and lead TI’s corporate media relations strategy, guiding on the use of various tactics such as press releases, media interviews, media tours, pitches and messaging on company-level topics. 
  • Enhance company reputation: Deliver innovative external communications strategies that strengthen and protect TI’s brand and reputation.
  • Issues communications leadership: Drive TI’s issues and crisis communications processes and strategy: oversee day-to-day management of issues triage and response, connecting dots across functions and regions and execution.
  • People management: Lead issues communications team and coordinate with agency partners.
  • Issues preparedness: Oversee optimization of TI’s crisis communications processes and playbooks; train communicators, executives and other stakeholders on their role in the event of a crisis.
  • Message and strategy development: Develop proactive and reactive media strategies, statements and content on short deadlines. Serve as a media spokesperson.
  • Executive consultation: Counsel leaders and functional experts on recommended approach for responding to issues and media inquiries and interviews.
  • Benchmarking and optimization: Continually assess the media landscape, analyzing news for trends that would influence TI and proactively provide recommendations. Use analytics to identify areas of success and opportunities for improvement to help further refine company-level media relations efforts.
  • Relationship building and stakeholder alignment: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts. Demonstrate agility, creativity and hustle to move projects forward and help connect dots across the company.
  • Sense of urgency: Effectively navigate multiple and shifting deadlines across projects in a fast-moving environment. Respond to intermittent or unexpected issues as they occur.
