JOB SUMMARY
The Test Line Assistant is responsible for preparing products for shipment, maintaining clean room standards, and assisting with inspections and equipment handling. This role involves following strict procedures for cleaning, labeling, packaging, and transporting parts while ensuring compliance with safety and quality protocols. The technician will collaborate with test technicians and other departments to support production needs and may assist with customer inspections. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this position.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works in the clean room alongside test technicians to support production and testing activities.
- Performs cleaning duties, including vacuuming, wiping down surfaces, and packaging components according to company procedures.
- Follows detailed checklists to ensure all procedures and protocols are strictly adhered to.
- Accurately labels parts that are being removed from tools for shipment to ensure proper tracking and identification.
- Inspects the traveling rack before it enters the clean room to verify that all necessary parts are present and accounted for.
- May be called upon to address GIGs (if trained and authorized to handle these tasks).
- Communicates effectively with other departments to coordinate workflow and resolve any issues related to clean room operations.
- Properly handles and stores parts in the clean room, including panels that are removed for testing, to maintain integrity and cleanliness.
- Assists in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the clean room to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Adheres to strict safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Responsible for laundry for clean room and keeping supplies in order.
- Supports customer source inspections by preparing tools, assisting with inspections, and addressing any required tasks.
- Assists in the final preparation of tools for the clean room, including cleaning, installing panels, conducting inspections, and supporting facilities work.
- May be called upon to act as a "runner" for test line technicians, transporting materials or tools as needed.
- Contribute to team effort by achieving results. Work cooperatively with team members, communicate design constraints, and work within the team to achieve solutions.
- Able to work in various positions such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, laying, reaching with hands and arms, grasp, handle and operate hand and tools, as well as welding equipment.
- Responsible for other duties and task as assigned and, in some circumstances, may be completely unrelated to this position.
JOB REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCES
- High school diploma or equivalent required; prior experience in a clean room or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately label, package, and inspect parts.
- Ability to follow strict safety protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and checklists.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for coordination with multiple departments.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced work environment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with handling tools, equipment, and sensitive parts.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed.
- Ability to wear and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Experience working with inventory tracking, logistics, or compliance inspections is a plus.
- Physical ability to lift, move, and handle moderate to heavy equipment as required.
