In this role, your primary focus will be on Data Storage technologies and Data Protection platforms. You will help define and implement these technologies and methodologies, placing a strong emphasis on automation and hybrid cloud environments. The goal is to maintain operational excellence across multiple world-class Data Center environments supporting critical semiconductor FAB manufacturing!

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain storage infrastructure across various tiers, including high-performance, capacity, archive, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery.
  • Design and manage high-throughput, low-latency SAN fabrics using Cisco SAN switches for performance-sensitive workloads.
  • Collaborate with the Solution and Enterprise Architect to recommend and implement system or architectural changes aimed at enhancing performance, high availability, scalability, and the adoption of innovative technologies. 
  • Participate in worldwide collaboration meetings to share on engineering efforts, technical challenges and breakthroughs
  • Participate in Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategy by detailing DR procedures, executing DR drills, and periodically maintaining and reviewing DR documents.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members and serve as the main escalation point for operational support.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues that require an understanding of the interaction of various protocols and operating systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to execute projects, ensuring timelines are met and IT operations are maintained by monitoring system performance metrics and taking proactive measures.
  • Create and maintain all necessary documentation for environmental changes or the deployment of new innovative technologies.
  • Assists in forecasting and budget planning for future requirements.
  • Adhere to the ITIL process for managing requests, incidents, changes, and problems to meet SLA agreements.
  • Assists the operations teams by automating manual processes to enhance monitoring, capacity utilization and planning, configuration management, and alerting.
  • Participate in scheduled maintenance, on-call rotation, and physical installation of hardware.
  • Architect and manage high-throughput, low-latency SAN fabrics using Cisco SAN switches for performance-sensitive workloads.
  • Ability to attend meetings during non-business hours (up to days weekly)
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimal supervision 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of expertise with large IT storage environment (+50 PB) includes storage systems such as NetApp, Pure FlashArray/FlashBlade, Dell PowerMax and Dell PowerScale
  • 5+ years of experience with Storage area networks with cisco MDS SAN switches or similar
  • Strong understanding of storage protocols: NFS, CIFS/SMB, FCP (SAN) and FC-NVMe
  • Experiences and skills with backup systems such as cohesity or similar
  • Experiences and skills in system infrastructures such as VMWare, Nutanix, K8S/Docker/OpenShift and OS (RedHat Linux and windows)
  • Experience and skills in Dell/Lenovo Server hardware
  • Experience automating infrastructure with Python, PowerShell, or Ansible.
  • Experience in data analysis tool such as Splunk
  • Experience with data center infrastructure management (DCIM), including tools to monitor, measure, manage, and/or control data center utilization.
