The Role:

As the client and graphics business continues to grow, expanding our System Engineering leadership in Malaysia R&D Center (MRDC) is crucial. This Senior Manager will oversee all Client and Graphics System Engineering (CGSE) team's development and operations in MRDC, focusing on system validation, issue debugging, and project deliverables. You will collaborate closely with global system engineering team to deliver the solid system solution to our customers within aggressive schedule.

This role demands extensive technical experience, problem-solving capabilities, management acumen, and interpersonal skills. You should be a strong problem solver, an effective communicator, capable of building respect and conveying status updates to executives.

We seek a proactive leader with a proven track record in system design and development. Coupled with the ability to foster cross-team collaboration, mentorship, and the development of technical leaders. Strong multi-functional alignment and team-building skills are essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Build a strong system engineering team from scratch in MRDC, including both GBS and ODC teams and lab setup.
• Lead MRDC CGSE team's development and operations across validation, debug, power and performance functions.
• Lead MRDC CGSE team in developing, validation, debugging, and delivering solid system solutions within aggressive project schedule.
• Advocate AMD execution culture and lead the team to figure out the innovative solutions relentlessly to overcome the challenges.
• Collaborate with CGSE global team, especially Shanghai R&D Center (SRDC) team to align the team development strategy, training plan, execution culture, priority call, etc.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with key MRDC leaders including site lead, HR, IT and facility teams to ensure the team’s effective operation. 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• 15+ years of extensive experience in system design and development, with 10+ years in management.
• Strong technical breadth and depth, with expertise in system-level or SOC/IP level validation, performance and power optimization, or driver/firmware development.
• Strong sense of ownership and hold the team accountable for project deliverables.
• Proven track record of strong team motivator, willingness to take responsibilities and effective communication.
• Fluent both English and Mandarin is a plus. 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Master’s Degree (MS) preferred.
