Summary Description:

 

Syntiant Corp., a leader in the high-growth AI software and semiconductor solutions space, is looking for an experienced and talented Senior Application Engineer to take on a critical role with expansive responsibilities to enhance the Application Engineering in a growing organization. The Senior Application Engineer will be responsible for application testing, evaluating new designs, preparing technical reports and collaborating with sales, marketing, engineering and customers.

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development of supporting documentation for new products which include data sheets and application notes.
  • Establish and maintain customer relations, especially with the technical stakeholders. Strongly influence new products and technology roadmap to meet customer requirements.
  • Assist R&D and QA in conducting root cause analysis on customer returns.
  • Write white papers on relevant transducer topics for internal and external publications.
  • Design product demonstrators to promote new products and features. Interface with global sales and field application engineers to provide support to fast paced consumer electronics industry.
  • Responsible for product development for our Consumer MEMS Microphone business segment.
  • Work with our internal R&D department and our customers as it relates to testing, evaluating new designs, competitive analysis and supporting technical reports for our sales, marketing, engineering departments as well as our customers.
  • Tools used: Audio Precision, speakers, function generators, oscilloscopes.
  • Acoustic signal analysis, digital signal processing, acoustic experiment setup development.
  • Master’s degree in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Electrical Engineering, Acoustics, Physics or a related quantitative field or foreign equivalent and two years as an Application Engineer, Acoustic Engineer or related occupation.
  • Experience must include working in high tech industry related to audio or sensors;
  • Hands-on lab experience: electronic and audio testing; Working with analog and digital audio systems: microphones and speakers.
  • Working with audio formats, audio signal chain in modern consumer electronics;
  • Utilizing Acoustic simulation: lumped element and finite element; Using MEMS and ASIC design concepts;
  • Utilizing Analog circuit design and ADC experience; and Using signal processing and audio software skills including FFT, and FIR/IIR.

One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting base pay for this role is targeted to be between $125,923-$150,000/yr. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Syntiant, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company. It is to be expected that candidates will come to us with different sets of skills and experiences and therefore will be paid at different points in the stated range.
