JOB TITLE: Production Supervisor

 

DEPARTMENT: Operations

 

REPORTS TO: Production Manager

SUMMARY:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the coordination, execution, and management of WIP, from receipt to shipment and ensuring customers’ expectations are met, and or exceeded. In addition, Production Supervisor supervises and coordinates the activities of the Production Technicians and helps maintain the documentation for their training and certifications, as well as manages their performance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strictly adheres to and models compliance to all corporate EHS, QMS, HR protocols, policies, and procedures
  • Models and monitors Operations Technicians Safe work practices and correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in all work areas.
  • Models and monitors compliance to copper segregation procedures and protocols.
  • Supervises all operations technicians, including performing annual reviews and maintaining employee records. Is responsible for interviewing and training the requirements of subordinates and for disciplinary actions.
  • Produces and enforces production schedules and employee shift schedules
  • Oversees Shift Leads
  • Interacts with Facility Specialist, and Quality Specialist to ensure issues and associated documentation are being addressed in a timely fashion including opening, monitoring, and closing NCRs.
  • Ensures all operations workers receive mandatory safety training, quality training, and have received work instruction training certifications for all assigned activities. Ensures training logs are kept and updated.
  • Holds daily meetings for updates and communication of production or shop issues. Notifies staff of important work deadlines, possible late shipments, and prioritizes work for staff to ensure 100% on-time deliveries.
  • Serves as primary liaison between Site Management and technicians.
  • Recommend measures to improve process/system methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Confers with other supervisors and Operations managers to coordinate continuous improvement activities.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree  or 3-5 years related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read English and follow technical procedures and instructions.
  • Ability to pass required drug screening and background check
  • This is a safety sensitive position; the ability to maintain the appropriate standards is required.

  • You must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including protective eye wear, hard hat, lab coat, gloves, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, and respirators.
