Job Description:

Primary responsibility for the operations of a semiconductor manufacturing facility operating 24/7; including management of a team of approximately 230 production operators, process technicians and shift supervisors.  The qualified individual will lead the organization to world-class production performance by implementing and driving performance metrics, expediting new products from prototype to volume production, and create a highly –effective, continuously improving team capable of scaling with demand and new technology.  The production manager directs key factory activities and complex troubleshooting in support of the business and customers.   Plans, budgets, and schedules equipment, labor, materials and other related costs.  Designs and develops organizational policies relevant to the production team.   Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.  Plans, schedules, commits and communicates production goals, performance metrics and delivery schedules to factory floor, upper management and to customers.

Essential experience and skills include:

  • Minimum of 12+ years of overall experience
  • Proven Leadership/management experience (at least 3 years leading a large team over multiple shifts, and 8 years semiconductor experience) in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.   Ability to recognize, grow and retain talent through performance management.  Able to work on and lead cross functional teams to diagnosis product/tool/process issues
  • Disciplined management style to drive standardization of procedures and practices across production shifts.  Ability to effectively drive performance and improvement.   Possess both formal and informal (lead by example) leadership skills in people and technical management.
  • Experience and knowledge of improving equipment and factory performance through key performance indicators.  Ability to create a metrics-driven organization.
  • Outstanding communicator with the ability to concisely communicate status, and accurately estimate future performance toward factory commitments, projects and troubleshooting efforts. 
  • Flexibility and positive attitude to create a change-able organization.  Able and willing to work off-shift to respond to issues and to get the job done
  • Knowledge, experience and ability to implement production techniques including theory of constraints, Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, ISO 9000/14000, 5S and TPM.
  • Capable of demonstrating an advanced knowledge of problem solving, faultfinding, and analysis using a range of standard and advanced practices and techniques.

Desired knowledge and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in technical field (such as engineering, etc.) or in business.
  • Knowledge of optical device manufacturing flows, product sensitivities and key production requirements.
  • Detailed knowledge of manufacturing systems such as MES floor control, SPC, ERP and supply/demand analysis.  Ability to create and maintain production performance metrics and databases.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $88,300 - $141,300 

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
