General Summary

The Production Control Specialist will perform scheduling functions by coordinating products and materials through various production phases of the manufacturing process. This includes document preparation, job tracking, and expediting. This position also is responsible for creating lots within our manufacturing tracking system and ensuring all the necessary requirements for manufacturing are met.

Responsibilities

  • Implements planned production schedules, labor loading and capacity requirements.  
  • Reviews schedules with the Production Control Manager to determine materials and parts requirements to ensure materials are available according to schedules. 
  • Processes manufacturing orders 
  • Executes and follow through on production schedules with area leads. 
  • Issues manufacturing purchase orders using the ERP system. 
  • Issue and/or revises internal specifications with current practices  
  • Responsible for routing material through the manufacturing process in the manufacturing execution system (MES) 
  • Set up stock codes and deferred billing in the company’s ERP system. 
  • Updates internal systems with status updates and when jobs are complete 
  • Performs job reviews and communicate status and issues to Sales.  
  •  Update flows and production material in our MES system. 
  • Request product to be pulled from the warehouse for Production. 
  • Brainstorm and implement ideas for efficiency improvements  
  • Other duties as assigned, including document scanning and purchase order processing 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required, but an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience preferred, but not required. 
  • Must have good computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office products.   
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff. 
  • Ability to learn custom software 
  • Ability to multitask 
  • Well organized and strong attention to detail.
