Principal Analog & Mixed-Signal Design Engineer

Analog Devices is hiring a Principle Analog & Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer for the Instrumentation business unit, primarily targeting Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) applications. The role involves analysis, research, design, simulation, characterization, and release-to-production of high-performance, power-delivery & measurement Integrated Circuits.

As part of the ATE design team, you will create high-performance solutions used worldwide in production testing of the most advanced ICs. The continued growth of high-performance computational ICs such as AI processors, GPUs, High Bandwidth Memory and other advanced semiconductors demands innovative solutions for high performance power handling and measurement.

The successful candidate will join a team that has created the most advanced and highly integrated solutions on the market. The successful candidate must have a strong, intuitive capability in solving complex challenges. The candidate will be self-motivated and be able to work effectively within a team.

Job Location: Colorado Springs, CO (preferred) or Wilmington, MA

 
Responsibilities

  • Work within an analog/mixed-signal design team based in Colorado Springs or Wilmington MA, and other locations worldwide.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with other cross-functional teams to define, implement and introduce products to our customers. Teams include business, applications, product definition, product engineering, layout, test engineering, project management, CAD/EDA, etc.
  • Lead medium and high-complexity ICs from architecture selection to implementation and debugging, managing analog and digital teams.
  • Mixed-mode IC top-level/block design, transistor-level circuit design and simulation.  
  • Use recommended design and verification techniques, tools & flows to produce efficient designs which meet specifications.
  • Successful integration of blocks into larger mixed-signal systems.
  • Support other development team functions, such as layout, application, and test, to ensure successful delivery and meeting all requirements.
  • Perform hands-on evaluation of ICs in the lab.

Requirements

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, 10+ years’ experience as analog circuit designer.
  • Strong fundamentals in analog and mixed-signal design, tools and flows.
  • Design experience with circuits such as amplifiers, DACs, ADCs, bandgaps, bias circuits, LDOs, and switching power supply circuits.
  • Experience in leading complex and large Mixed-Signal ICs
  • Good understanding of power supply control architectures.
  • Knowledge of BCD process technologies.
  • Understand digital IC design.
  • Understand physical phenomena such as latch-up, HCI degradation, and other reliability issues.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills are required.
  • Ability to take ownership of top-level subsystems and integration in the mixed-signal environment.
  • Travel to support product definition should be expected.
  • Good level of understanding of the English language, both written and spoken.

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $148,500 to $222,750.
  • Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.

  • This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
