Lead the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and custom tooling/fixtures for handling, assembly, and testing of components and assemblies. Support full product lifecycle: conceptualization, CAD modeling, analysis, documentation, procurement, prototyping, and validation. Perform detailed engineering analyses, including FEA, thermal, stress, vibration, fluid/gas dynamics, and manufacturability. Ensure designs align with industry standards such as SEMI and GD&T, as well as internal company design and safety requirements. Develop and execute feasibility studies and test plans to validate design performance. Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, quality, and cost optimization. Prepare and present technical reports and design reviews to communicate design intent and validation results. Deliver key product development artifacts, including FMEA, risk analysis, technical specifications, and test documentation. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience; or Master's degree with 3+ years; or Ph.D. with 0-1 year of experience. Strong proficiency in 3D CAD tools (e.g., CREO, Siemens NX, Inventor, SolidWorks). Excellent communication and technical presentation skills. Hands-on design and experimental background with solid engineering fundamentals. Project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Knowledge of industry standards (SEMI, ANSI, DIN) and best practices in GD&T and DFM. Experience developing production support equipment for semiconductor manufacturing or other high-tech industries, including assembly fixtures, test stands, and handling solutions Understanding of factory operations and production workflows, including ergonomics, maintenance, and design for manufacturability. Background in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments, supporting new product development with the introduction of custom tooling or capital equipment. Familiarity with MS Office and engineering documentation standards.
