THE OPPORTUNITY 

TechInsights is seeking a motivated student with an interest in smartphone market analysis and industry research to join our Wireless Smartphone Strategies (WSS) team. The Industry Analyst Intern position is a flexible, part-time role designed for students seeking hands-on experience in market research and analysis. The student analyst will support the team in gathering and analyzing market data and assisting with client projects. This role provides excellent learning opportunities in the smartphone and mobile device industry while contributing to customized research projects and client support activities. The ideal candidate will have strong research and analytical thinking skills, an interest in technology markets and competitive strategy, and excellent written communication skills.  

WHAT YOU WILL DO  

• Research Support: Assist in researching company activity, market drivers, and technology developments focusing on market dynamics, competitive positioning, and industry trends in the smartphone and mobile device industry under supervision 
• Market Intelligence Gathering:  Support secondary research efforts and help consolidate market information from multiple sources 
• Project Assistance: Contribute to customized ad-hoc projects for clients under senior analyst guidance 
• Content Support: Assist in researching and preparing materials for reports on smartphone market trends 
• Client Support: Help respond to basic customer inquiries and data requests under supervision 
• Market Data Updates: Update and maintain market tracking tools and databases with guidance from senior team members 

WHO YOU ARE  

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Business, Economics, Marketing, International Business, Technology Management, or a related field. Minimum sophomore standing preferred. 
• Previous internship or coursework in market research, business analysis, or competitive intelligence is an asset. Familiarity with the smartphone or technology industry is a plus
• Strong research skills with ability to gather and synthesize information from multiple sources
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Curious and self-motivated learner with interest in technology markets
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively in a flexible work environment
