Overview:
Veeco is hiring a Manufacturing Technician with primary responsibilities to participate in the assembling of newly manufactured Advanced Packaging systems and subsystems on the manufacturing floor.
Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate safe work practices including electrical safety, safe lifting techniques, and maintaining a clean, safe work area
• Following work instructions, integrate subassemblies and components into the build of complex systems to prepare for functional testing
• Read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
• Use precision measurement tools including torque wrenches, DMMs, height standards, precision measurement tools, levels, and unique electronic data gathering tools as prescribed in work instructions
• Disassemble and pack systems in preparation for shipment and delivery to customers
• Write daily pass downs and store build data as directed
• Perform basic troubleshooting and assist Manufacturing Engineers to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues
• Identify improvement opportunities for safety, manufacturing processes, or 6S as they arise
• Other duties as assigned
• Shift: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
Qualifications:
• Candidates must have 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in assembly and troubleshooting complex systems. An Associate’s degree in technical engineering OR a background in Technical Field Service is preferred.
• Ability to work second shift: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of hardware, software, and control systems
• Experience with manufacturing is preferred
• Experience with MS Word and Excell preferred
• Aptitude for identifying and resolving recurring problems
• Good Interpersonal and communication skills to interface with assembly technicians, engineering, management, customers, sales, and marketing
• Willingness to work overtime, holidays and weekends as required to meet company revenue requirements
Physical Job Requirements:
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
• Needs to be able to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing
• Must be able to use standard hand tools and standard office equipment
Salary and Benefits
The expected hourly pay range for this position is $22.99 — $29.12 per hour, plus a bonus opportunity.
