We are seeking a talented and motivated Linux System Administrator to join our cutting-edge IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for Linux OS installation, updates, kernel modules, services, and performance tuning.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
- Manage and support core infrastructure services such as Kickstart, DNS, DHCP, NFS, LDAP, and NIS.
- Administer and maintain Apache web servers, including configuration, tuning, and security updates.
- Support version control and code review platforms including SVN, Git, and Gerrit.
- Deploy and manage container environments using Docker, Podman, or other container technologies.
- Configure and support SAN networking and enterprise storage solutions, including NetApp (NFS exports, provisioning, snapshots).
- Troubleshoot and resolve Linux system, storage, network, and application issues; perform root cause analysis and log investigation.
- Implement and maintain server security, access controls, patching, and compliance.
- Create and update documentation, runbooks, installation procedures, and operational guides.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Linux servers, services, and infrastructure components.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Linux System Administrator.
- Strong understanding of Linux OS installation, updates, kernel modules, services, and performance tuning.
- Proficiency with PXE/Kickstart Linux OS installation, DNS, DHCP, NFS, LDAP, and NIS administration.
- Experience with Apache web server configuration and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Jenkins, SVN, Git, and Gerrit configuration and maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with Docker or Podman containers.
- Understanding of SAN networking concepts (iSCSI, Fiber Channel, zoning).
- Proficiency with NetApp storage administration.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across system, storage, networking, and application layers.
- Solid scripting ability (Bash, Python or similar).
Preferred
- Experience with automation/configuration tools (Ansible, Puppet).
- Knowledge of virtualization (VMware, KVM) or cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios, Grafana and Zabbix).
The base range is $160,000-$190,000. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to convert to a full-time regular position.
