About Texas Instruments (TI)

Texas Instruments (TI) is a global semiconductor company that designs, manufactures and sells analog and embedded processing chips, which are at the heart of nearly every type of electronic system today. Our products are essential across industries – from industrial and automotive to personal electronics, communications, and aerospace & defense. As governments and industries worldwide place greater emphasis on the role of semiconductors for national security and supply chain resiliency, TI’s technology has never been more important.

The Role

TI is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel for Commercial Government Engagements to join our Legal team. Based in Dallas, Texas, this role will provide legal guidance on engagements with U.S. and international government agencies, primarily in the defense ecosystem. The role will support worldwide government incentives programs, defense-related initiatives and contracts, and compliance with various regulations and other legal requirements, including security clearances and other national security matters. This role requires a self-motivated, collaborative attorney with extensive knowledge of government contracting mechanisms and regulations, and someone who demonstrates superior judgment, attention to detail, and ability to navigate and advise on matters of significant complexity.

The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues across the enterprise — including business operations, government relations, sales, engineering, legal and senior leadership — to ensure TI’s government-related activities are aligned to the company’s business strategy and conducted in compliance with applicable laws and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide counsel on defense-related programs, including compliance with national security regulations and security clearance requirements.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with U.S. and international government agencies, including FAR and FAR supplement-based engagements, OTAs, and CRADAs.
  • Navigate various government information submissions and related administrative requirements.
  • Advise on global government incentives programs and government engagement strategies.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to prepare proposals and RFP responses for government projects.
  • Partner closely with business and senior leaders to anticipate legal and regulatory issues affecting TI’s global government business.
  • Translate complex laws and regulations into practical, actionable guidance for business teams.
  • Take initiative in a fast-paced environment to provide timely, solution-oriented legal support.
