Job Description

Intern Process Technician – Summer 2026

Process Technician Interns play a key role in supporting production line flow by executing tactical activities in collaboration with area engineering teams. Interns will contribute to maintaining quality systems and ensuring low product cycle times. Over the course of this three-month internship, participants will receive comprehensive training in safety protocols, fab software systems, and hands-on experience within a designated process area. Training will focus on one of the three core responsibility areas outlined below, allowing interns to gain meaningful experience and contribute effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Interns will be assigned to one of the following focus areas:

  • Equipment Support
Perform tasks to improve equipment availability, such as monitoring and updating equipment tracking status, running qualification tests post-maintenance, coordinating development tool time, and troubleshooting automation issues.
  • Product Flow Management
Support area product priorities and manage lot holds. Responsibilities include preparing tools and processes for priority material, updating lot comments for delays, managing queue time ordering, and collaborating with engineering to resolve lot-level holds.
  • Process Issue Resolution
Address process-related issues that impede product flow. Tasks may include investigating out-of-spec process qualifications, performing lot targeting, executing Special Work Requests (SWRs), and supporting development activities to qualify new processes.
  • Safety and Documentation (Required for all interns)
Complete all required safety training and adhere to safety protocols. Participate in a fab safety audit with a mentor, contribute to the company’s “Good Catch” safety program by identifying and addressing one safety concern, and assist with a Periodic Document Review (PDR) to update a procedure or Best-Known Method (BKM).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing an associate degree with no plans to transfer to a four-year institution.
  • Willingness to relocate to the Manassas, VA area for the duration of the internship
