Job Description:

Head of Government Affairs:


Manages attorneys or other tax professionals who: provide legal services and counsel to Broadcom entities, managers and employees to resolve or prevent problems or disputes and to protect Broadcom assets, technology and design freedom; represents Broadcom in litigation or audits, before government agencies and in negotiations; coordinate legal or tax matters handled by outside counsel. Responsibilities include general corporate matters, corporate organization, securities compliance, drafting transaction documents, license agreements, employment law, immigration law, regulatory matters and risk management matters.

Scope: Lead strategies globally

• Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area or a major product group within a Business Unit.
• Recognized as an influential leader within a function or Business Unit or Company.
• Detailed knowledge of company allows for innovative concepts and promoting new ideas.
• Manages teams located in more than one site within a region or globally.
• Develops corporate and/or organizational policies and authorizes their implementation.
• Makes decisions on administrative or operational matters including staff and budgets.
• Direct control over spend budget
• Impact on P&L activities.
• Movement into this level requires approval from the CEO and VP of HR - Job

Complexity:

• Works on complex issues where analysis of situations across functional areas, or data requires an in-depth knowledge of Broadcom.
• Participates in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people, providing strategy and direction for major functional areas.
• Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.

Discretion:

• Erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of functional or organizational operations (may potentially impact Broadcom's success).

Reporting Relationship:

• Typically reports to a Vice President. - Experience:

• Minimum of 18 years of overall experience of which a minimum of 6 years is in management.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $160,300 - $256,500 

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
