Business Line Description:

NXP’s Design Enablement team supports global design groups with EDA flows related to semiconductor chip development.  The team supports both digital and analog EDA tools as well as other initiatives to help automate and optimize development of chips in NXP’s portfolio.

Job Summary:

Looking for a highly motivated individual to be part of an Data Analytics team within the Design Enablement group focused on improving and optimizing our semiconductor development flows and compute utilization across NXP.  Typical work will include working around AWS cloud platform to improve the data quality feeding into the database, analyzing the data, and creating dashboards and presentations related to the analysis all in an effort to optimize semiconductor chip development and reduce costs.  Responsibilities include:

  • Generating and cleaning data streams to be used with analysis

  • Analyzing compute and EDA license usage to improve efficiency and reduce costs

  • Forecasting EDA license usage and spending

  • Creating dashboards and presentation material for reporting on various metrics

Key Challenges:

  • Will be learning a number of new tools and skills

  • Working with incomplete datasets

  • Collaborating with different groups internally

Cross Functional aspects:

  • Generate data streams and analysis that will be used across NXP

Job Qualifications:

Working on degree in computer science, data science/analytics or related field. Below are a list of skills we are looking for but not a requirement for an internship:

Data Engineer

  • Cloud data platform experience, AWS preferred

  • Athena, RDS, Redshift, Glue, Cloud Formation, Spark, Lambda, Sagemaker, S3, EC2 AWS skills

  • Strong SQL skills

  • Able to architect and develop data pipelines.

  • Strong scripting language skills

  • Solid linux environment skills

  • BI tool experience a plus

Data Analyst

  • Development and operation of "big data" reporting pipelines, from source to end-user

  • Tableau, PowerBI, or other BI platform

  • Experience in cleaning and rationalizing data

  • Solid SQL skills

  • Statistics and statistics tools (e.g. R, JMP) benefiical

  • Scripting language skills and experience using these to "improvise and overcome"

  • Cloud experience a plus

  • Machine learning skills a plus
