NPI Lead Ultrafast
Lumentum (NASDAQ: LITE) is a market-leading manufacturer of innovative optical and photonic products enabling optical networking and commercial laser customers worldwide. Lumentum’s optical components and subsystems are part of virtually every type of telecom, enterprise, and data center network.Our Switzerland site is a leading design center of ultrafast pico- and femtosecond laser systems featuring excellent performance and long-term opto-mechanical stability. Our products mainly serve commercial applications in micromachining markets.
We expand our R&D team into our site in Thailand and seek an energetic NPI Lead for our Ultrafast products to work in a fast paced, international development environment closely with R&D and production.
Responsibilities:
- Become NPI lead for the introduction of next generation ultrafast laser products.
- Actively engage in the product development process in close collaboration with the electrical, mechanical, process and manufacturing engineering teams.
- Execute best known continuous improvements methods like FMEAs, SDRs, A3s and 3P activities.
- Drive product variants with the team from concept to implementation.
- Do independent characterization and analysis of laser systems.
- Assembly, optimize, and test alpha and beta prototypes
- Support product transfer to the manufacturing team including training of engineers and technicians as well as writing of work instructions.
- Collaborate in supplier selection and management in with Global Commodity and Supply Chain Management.
- International travel (up to 20%) may be required.
Qualification:
- 5 years of industry experience in product development or manufacturing of complex optical products.
- Proven track record of sucessfully completed NPI projects
- Proven Leadership skills
- Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Quality (DFQ) within a structured product development process in an industrial environment.
- Strong hands on experience in use of test and measurement equipment for laser characterization (power meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers etc.)
- Teamwork orientation with strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills, as well as commitment to continuous improvement.
- Self-motivated, able to plan tasks and small projects, to adhere to deadlines under tight project schedules
- Fluency in English (oral and written).
