Introduction to the job
The ocean freight project specialist at ASML will manage a portfolio of ocean freight projects. This role will require close collaboration with global freight teams at ASML and internal stakeholders such as ASML business lines, finance, planning, sourcing, and external logistics service providers. The main objective of this role is to co-design and implement ocean freight solutions. 
 

Role and responsibilities

  • Analyze existing ASML goods flows and processes for innovation opportunities that align with ASML business requirements and sustainability goals.
  • Project manage the delivery of complex ocean freight-related projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all projects are on time, within budget and to the agreed specification.
  • Project reporting on progress, finances, challenges, risk management, and oversight of the overall successful delivery of ocean freight-related projects under your responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and trade management relevant to specific (ocean) freight projects.
  • Work closely with the P&D finance team to ensure that all financial aspects of the project lifecycle comply with the ASML financial framework and that all financial reporting requirements are compiled on time.
  • Close alignment with P&D procurement and sourcing to support RFS and RFQ processes.
  • Work closely with the P&D procurement and sourcing team to translate ASML business requirements into an impactful long-term sourcing strategy.
  • As required, present reports and status updates on the projects to the freight management team, project board members, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal -and external partners.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain, or Logistics.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience at a logistics service provider in ocean freight and project or industrial logistics.
  • 5+ years' experience designing customized ocean freight solutions delivering on complex and specific customers' business requirements.
  • 5+ years of experience running (agile) ocean freight projects at a logistics service provider.
  • Project management experience (Prince2 Foundation and/or Prince2 Agile Foundation courses are a plus)
  • Experience working in complex multi-cultural business settings.
