SkyWater's Process Sustaining Engineer has the responsibility of owning a photolithography tool set and the processes that are integrated within the tool set. This is an exciting time to join SkyWater where you can support development, as well as, volume production to work on process improvement, yield and process optimization projects.
Responsibilities:
- Development of a unit process the Photolithography module with successful re-use.
- Equipment and material characterization as it relates to this unit process.
- Identification of tools needed to support new modules or processes.
- Negotiate material and equipment specifications with vendors.
- Transfer of unit process from development to production.
- Participation in external or internal joint development projects.
- Defect detection and reduction at key process steps.
- Drive continuous improvement of process capability and controls.
- Work across organizations to enable improved processes.
- Resolve process excursions and drive permanent Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA).
Required Qualifications:
Education: B.S. or M.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or Materials Science, Physics or other relevant engineering discipline is required.
Experience and/or Training:
- Experience with the application of structured problem-solving methodology and design of experiment.
- Experiences in JMP and statistical software.
- Positive interpersonal skills, highly energetic and self-motivated.
- Demonstrated ability to meet commitments and deliver results.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Photolithography experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment (process optimization, yield and defect, strong understanding of exposure tools) preferred.
- Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Strong mathematical background.
