Intel Foundry Services (IFS) is an independent foundry business that is established to meet our customers' unique product needs. With the first Open System Foundry model in the world, our combined offerings of wafer fabrication, advanced process, and packaging technology, chiplet, software, robust ecosystem, and assembly and test capabilities help our customers build their innovative silicon designs and deliver full end-to-end customizable products from Intel's secure, resilient, and sustainable source of supply.
This job opportunity in IFS will be part of the Customer Solutions Engineering (CSE) group which is responsible for the portions of the system foundry that brings the best of Intel technologies to IFS customers, differentiating and accelerating their solutions from architecture to post-silicon validation.


The Design Engineer in Foundry Services:

  • Perform logic design, Register Transfer Level (RTL) coding, and simulation to generate cell libraries, functional units, and subsystems for inclusion in full chip designs.
  • Participate in the development of Architecture and Microarchitecture specifications for the Logic components.
  • Provide IP integration support to SoC customers and represents RTL team.
    The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:
  • Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills, as well is good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work cross-geo/site when needed to accomplish results.
    Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Qualifications


What we need to see (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or other relevant STEM related field of study and 1+ years’ experience OR Masters degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or other relevant STEM related field of study.

  • 1+ years of experience in Logic RTL Design Implementation and Debugging.

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

  • 1+ yrs. experience in Hardware Design Language (such as VHDL or Verilog).

  • 1+ yrs. exp. In C/C++ programming

  • 1+ years’ experience with scripting languages

  • Post graduate degree electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, math or in any STEM related field.

  • Low power experience (e.g., architecture, design, verification, etc.)

  • Formal verification experience (assertion-based testing)

  • Experience with DDR, Ethernet, and/or PCIe protocols

  • Experience implementing digital logic designs in FPGA systems or other emulation methods.

  • Experience with adjacent areas of the SoC development process (e.g. synthesis, static timing analysis, formal equivalence checking, etc.)

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in Canada:CAD 77,610.00-116,390.00
Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience


Working Model


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
