As a Product Validation and Test Engineering Manager, you will lead, develop, and mentor a dedicated team of engineers working on automation and flows for chip validation and characterization. In this role you will collaborate across product development teams and help shape the direction of the organization.

Responsibilities:

    • Leadership for a team that develops hardware, software and automation for chip validation correlation and characterization
    • Manage a team of engineers to architect test automation platforms to develop and execute tests on the lab bench per the validation / characterization plan during post-silicon phases of the product to ensure functionality and performance as per the datasheet.
    • Participate in developing methodologies for chip test and validation from requirements through tape-out
    • Contribute towards the continuous development of Tools, Technology and Flows
    • Foster a culture of continuous engineering improvement through mentorship, feedback, and metrics. Set clear, measurable quality goals for the organization in a data-driven way
    • Propose and implement new projects or recommend continuous improvements to tools and flows
    • Develop training and documentation, supporting your team and product development
    • Work with validation/ production test peers to implement best practices and continuous improvements to Cirrus Logic characterization and validation methodologies.
    • Collaborate closely with IC Design engineers, Systems engineers, and Application Engineers to collaborate in test and validation methodologies

Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Bachelors/Masters in Electrical Engineering with at proven experience in silicon test and characterization projects.
    • Strong debug skills, aptitude to learn and resolve complex issues
    • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills with the ability to lead, mentor, and hire
    • Able to handle engineering tasks, on an as needed basis, combining experience in Characterization, Failure Analysis, Test Development, Statistical analysis and Customer Support
    • Mixed Signal background with experience in audio and power analysis
    • Ability to organize assignments and schedule time to complete work you're doing within established timelines
    • Creative & lateral thinker

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

    • Experience with production mixed signal IC testers such as NI-STS (HSDIO, DSA, and/or FPGA PXI instrumentation) would be particularly relevant
    • Develop automated test framework, regression test suites in TestStand / Python and/or LabVIEW to optimize validation efficiency.
    • Develop and work with supporting HW (PXI, FPGA, DSP, ARM, 8051, JTAG, Scopes, debuggers) and SW (Python, C, Assembly, scripts) collateral
This position is based in Edinburgh, UK

This is a hybrid remote position and will follow a 2+ day in-office work schedule, with in-office days based on business needs and team preference. You must be based within commutable distance of the work location listed on the job posting, or willing to relocate prior to beginning employment with Cirrus Logic.
