Introduction to the job

  • Develops and implements the company's production control functions including any of the following activities: master scheduling, production planning/coordination, shop scheduling and dispatching, material requirements, planning systems, work-in-process tracking, material and labor variance controls, and manufacturing performance reporting.

  • Approves quantities, schedules and parts lists provided to the material control organization to ensure timely and complete ordering, as well as receipt and issuance of production material requirements. 

  • Responsible for planning, reviewing, and developing production procedures and personnel. 

  • May coordinate activities with materials function using enterprise resource planning systems. 

  • Maintains reports to reflect scheduling, methods, support performance and process procedures. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Role and responsibilities

  • Provides support for operations direction and support through supervising the day-to-day operations of a function or group.

  • Assists in the execution of research and data analysis tasks on behalf of professionals or management.

  • Analyzes problems, determines approach, complies and analyzes data and prepares reports/recommendations.

  • Documents and monitors safety or security violations which are critical to product quality or operations.​

  • Supervises the development activity based on Master Schedule (from HQ) for Manufacturing and Procurement and the assembly of products to meet customer delivery dates and/or inventory levels that meet corporate goals.

  • Responsible for the monitoring of Production Schedules (from HQ), Raw Material, WIP, and Finished Goods for financial tracking purposes and in support of company goals.

  • Utilizes expert knowledge of production specifications, manufacturing processes, supplier capabilities, material availability, and mathematical planning tools to develop the production plan.

  • Recommends, approves, and prioritizes production schedules based on demand requirements, new product introduction, equipment capacity and materials supply. 

  • Meets production goals, lead time, quality, and cost objectives. 

  • Ability to select, develop, inspire and evaluate teams and individuals to achieve and maintain outstanding performance. 

  • Commits and performs to linear production schedule (at or above line performance).

  • Recognizes and understand causes for outstanding performance and incorporates into work center BKM’s (Best Known Method’s) to ensure continued outstanding performance.

  • Understands causes of and develops and executes action plans as appropriate to eliminate excursions.

  • Identifies and monitors capacity requirements (Equipment, facilities and labor).

  • Assists in developing and positioning contingency plans for quick response to production demand changes.

  • Continuously improves Work Center rolled throughput yields.

Education and experience

  • Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • Requires a minimum of 7 years in high tech manufacturing/development.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. (Korean and English)

  • Preferred Certification: 보세사 (Bonded goods caretaker)

  • Ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats.
