Sales Engineering, Senior Staff

As the Senior Staff Sales Engineer, you will provide technical expertise and support in the sale of Application Security Testing tools including SCA, SAST, IAST DAST, MAST, and Fuzzers. This position works closely with the US sales, product, and engineering teams to drive new and expanded business. Your role is to understand a prospect’s business, identify solutions among our product offerings, and advocate for the prospect's needs within Synopsys. The Sales Engineer will report to the Manager of Sales Engineering. This position is mostly remote work, but you must be located in the Pacific or Mountain time zone.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in discovery conversations with customers to understand their goals, quantify their pain, and learn their requirements.
  • Deliver compelling and dynamic software demonstrations that address a prospect’s specific needs to technical, security, and legal audiences.
  • Create and conduct technical briefings and be comfortable presenting to developers and C-level executives alike.
  • Define, organize, and execute product evaluations that prove the effectiveness of our solutions and communicate their business impact.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to provide feedback on product updates and enhancements.
  • Nurture relationships and develop new opportunities through proactive customer outreach, education, and community engagement.
Main Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience working in a high-tech software company, preferably in a sales engineering/technical sales, technical post-sales or an engineering/development/security role.
  • Experience operating, administering, developing, or selling any SAST, DAST, IAST, SCA, ASPM, or Fuzzing technology (Application Security tools).
  • Experience with one or more development languages including C/C++, Java, JavaScript, C#, Ruby, Python, or other languages.
  • Working knowledge of current software development processes, packaging & deployment technologies, and application security landscape.
  • Experience with the SDLC, CI/CD Tooling, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, AWS, GCP, and more.
  • Ability to clearly communicate the solution’s value proposition to clients and prospects.
  • Manage time effectively, with the ability to multi-task and proactively prioritize tasks across several accounts and team objectives.
  • Be open-minded and curious, with an aptitude for rapidly learning new skills and technologies.
  • Able to travel within the US, averaging 2 trips per month and usually lasting 2 nights.

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $137,000-$205,000 In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.
