Snr Metrology Engineer
Location: Dongtan, South Korea
The Role
As the Snr Metrology Engineer, you will be responsible for managing laboratory testing equipment such as FIB and TEM. You will work closely with the R&D team to collect and analyze data, while also supporting lab operations and maintaining the equipment for optimal conditions and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Operate dual beam FIB to prepare S/TEM samples and perform SEM and EDS analysis. Meet cycle-time requirements.
- Pre-treat samples for FIB liftout. Identify areas of interest, cleaving, cleaning, and coating.
- Improve existing and develop new S/TEM sample preparation methods.
- Collect and organize data, and report to internal/external customers.
- Assist engineers to develop new analytical method and techniques.
- Maintain laboratory 6S housekeeping.
- Drive understanding and application of existing and new metrology techniques to ensure measurement capabilities meet the company's material technical roadmap
- Collaborate with process development engineers to advise in the selection of appropriate characterization techniques and to aid in data interpretation for process development and optimization.
- Maintain SPC data, collect uptime data, participate in tool efficiency projects.
- Develop applications to identify issues, solve problems and deliver solutions and optimizations.
- Develop metrology recipes where applicable to facilitate turnkey operations.
Qualifications
- Master or PhD in Engineering or a science-related major. PhD preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in S/TEM sample preparation for semiconductor devices and materials
- Fluency in Korean and business level communication skills in English.
- Ability to work on shift work (1st shift 07:00am - 15:30, 2nd shift 13:30 - 22:00)
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are mandatory.
- Must have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently.
- Working knowledge of various techniques such as XRR, XRD, XRF, TXRF, optical defect inspection, e-beam defect inspection and review, FTIR, SPV, four-point probe and hall effect measurements is a plus.
- Basic understanding of semiconductor processing and device fabrication.
