The CAD application engineering role is part of the global engineering team, which is responsible for all aspects of ASM’s engineering strategy, policies, processes, methods, systems/tools, delivering exceptional end-user performance. Responsibilities also include identifying and driving opportunities to improve the output of engineering teams in terms of quality and efficiency. This is a key role in ASM’s Digital Transformation. The role will work closely with the various ASM communities to support a variety of CAD Standards and systems in a global environment.
Role Summary:
- Take ownership of the CAD automation, systems, applications, design standards, and templets
- PTC CREO modeling/administration. Programming/automation skills are a must
- CREO Modeling architecture and administration
- Design data collaboration with other mCAD authoring tools/environments
- Design data collaboration with eCAD platforms (ePLAN and Altium Designer) is a plus
- Knowledge of DFM and ERP systems is a plus
- Experience dealing with overlapping projects and shifting priorities within critical due dates
- Develop application testing strategies, the code review process, and guideline
- Support ASM product development teams in their daily engineering CAD systems
- Perform modeling troubleshooting, diagnostics, and ongoing day-to-day system maintenance
- Interface with stakeholders to understand the need for new system improvements
Must-Have Skills:
- CAD administration and modeling (minimum 7 years)
- Management of migration of legacy CAD data and tools
- CAD Licenses management (Minimum 2 years)
- At least 5 years of experience with PTC Creo solutions.
- Strong Manufacturing engineering concepts
- Understanding of relational databases like Oracle/SQL (2 years)
- Digital Mockup (DMU) administration (Minimum 5 years)
- Experience with the iteration modeling instants
- Knowledge of product configuration/change process and various business process practices
- Hands-on, motivated, and willing to help in all areas
- Documentation of training materials, engineering standards, and system implementations
- Conduct internal application training
- Test new features for stability and compatibility with business processes
- A basic understanding of SDLC
Desired Characteristics:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- Intermediate working knowledge of complex mechanical/electrical model systems
- Enterprise Architecture using BPMN modeling tools
- Experience with design and manufacturing in complex/connected environments
- Complete assigned Help Desk tickets efficiently and effectively
- Strong verbal/written communication skills on technical/non-technical levels across audiences
- Analytical & problem-solving skills by breaking down larger problems into smaller components & trying multiple approaches in high-pressure situations to develop effective solutions
