As a Regional Service Safety Manager in our US Service region, you will report to the Sr. Global Service Safety Manager and become part of an exceptional team of scientists, engineers, and many others working at the leading-edge of technology. Education / Experience
- BS/MS in Health & Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related degree.
- 7+ years in Health & Safety within manufacturing and/or equipment servicing or design environment.
- Occupational health and safety experience in semiconductor fabs or other high-tech areas / semiconductor fabs.
- Familiar with ISO 45001, safety regulations or standards for a capital equipment field service organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The position is responsible for the management of ASM Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Sustainability programs throughout the US Service region supporting regional Service in coordination with the Global Service Safety Manager. Responsibilities include:
- Develop, maintain and manage ASM’s EHS program to support the US Service organization.
- Provide leadership in health & safety to a growing Service organization across the US.
- Influence on global policies and procedures as part of the global service safety team.
- Possess a thorough understanding of local/regional regulations as well as company and customer policies.
- Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable ASM EHS and Sustainability policies to provide for a hazard-free workplace for ASM’s employees. This includes the regional offices and workplaces at customer sites/locations.
- Proactive in advising management on EHS matters, including to provide strategic and tactical insight to the Global EHS organization relative to changing regulation and standards.
- Provide subject matter expertise support to regional management and the line organization for workplace health and safety issues/concerns.
- Analyze EHS metrics leading to the discovery of trends and drive improvement plans to closure to minimize risk and improve performance.
- Measure the site/region’s performance against company requirements in applicable EHS and Sustainability areas.
- Create and maintain practices, procedures, training and management controls to ensure work is planned and conducted in a safe manner in accordance with national and local regulatory requirements, Semiconductor Equipment Manufacturing Industry (SEMI) standards, ASM global EHS procedures, and customer requirements.
- Work with local management to maintain Emergency Response Plans.
- Implement and contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of the global and regional safety training programs; provides training where necessary.
- Implement and maintain safety incident and health case reporting in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Contribute to and lead safety incident investigations.
- Coordinate safety committee meetings.
- Work with other regional EHS Managers to define and maintain globally aligned EHS and Sustainability procedures and work instructions.
- Direct interaction with customer representatives as required.
- Ownership and driving assurance of internal audits to ensure compliance with internal ASM policies as well as occupational safety and health regulations and customer policies in customer facilities.
- Participate in customer engagements including but not limited to site safety walks, process and procedure development and review, and chemical safety/health assessments.
- Lead incident prevention efforts, e.g., Safety Management by Walking Around audits (SMBWAs) and Safety Incident Reporting (SIRs), while driving cultural safety maturity among the service teams through direct interaction with site management and FSEs on a daily/weekly/monthly basis in customer facilities.

- Knowledge in the semiconductor equipment industry, including wafer processing equipment, servicing equipment and ergonomics standards.
- Experience with Industrial Hygiene methods and standards applicable to the semiconductor industry.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with customers and associates.
- Written and spoken English a requirement.
- Experience in a fast paced, changing/growing organization, and ability to adapt to changing circumstances, direction and strategy.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability.
- Strong ability to influence without authority, and engage with a diverse range of employee and management levels within an organization.

- Experience with chemicals and gases in a safety, health, or hygiene setting strongly preferred.
- Willingness to continually learn and grow
Licenses/Certifications
- Certified Safety Professional (or comparable professional safety certification) preferred.
