Cirrus Logic has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Technical Author and Information Development Engineer based in our Edinburgh office. As part of a highly collaborative team, you will be responsible for developing detailed information for Cirrus Logic’s expanding portfolio of integrated circuit (IC) hardware and associated tools and systems. Such information includes customer datasheets and user guides, hardware and software architecture specifications, and IC design specifications. We eagerly pursue scripting, data modeling, and process automation to operate most efficiently in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

    • Plan and develop the information requirements for new and existing products.
    • Execute the development of technical documentation including silicon datasheets, architecture specifications, application notes, embedded firmware user manuals, and white papers.
    • Evaluate and resolve information-related bugs across affected sources.
    • Contribute to the definition and implementation of methodologies to promote visibility of documentation status, streamline documentation production, and to improve integration with the design workflow and cross-functional teams.
    • Review technical information for content, quality, and adherence to defined standards and requirements.
    • Communicate with internal stakeholders regarding documentation-related issues and commitments

Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Degree in electronic engineering (or equivalent) with experience in a technical writing, applications, or systems-engineering role.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to address and prioritize immediate tactical needs while maintaining a broader customer-enablement mindset.
    • Demonstrably strong problem-solving skills.
    • Collaborative mindset, able to operate and influence within a cross-functional team.
    • Flexibility to support multiple simultaneous projects and deadlines.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

    • Strong analog, digital, and mixed-signal fundamentals.
    • Mixed-signal hardware and/or audio-related background.
    • Experience using Adobe FrameMaker.
    • Practical knowledge in revision-control and bug-tracking systems.
This position is located in Edinburgh, UK.

This is a flexible position that follows a 2+ day in-office work schedule, with in-office days based on business needs and team preference. You must be based within commutable distance of the work location, or willing to relocate prior to beginning employment with Cirrus Logic.
