We have a fantastic opportunity for a Systems Engineer/Product Definer based in our state-of-the-art Edinburgh office. Mixed-signal engineering drives our company. We develop high-performance, low-power, mixed-signal solutions which deliver innovative end-user experiences and solve difficult challenges for our customers. As part of a highly collaborative team, you will be responsible for defining integrated circuits (ICs) and solutions by translating customer’s needs into product specifications used to guide design of the IC. This position plays a fundamental role in Cirrus Logic's Mixed-Signal business with plenty of scope for development. Responsibilities

    • Support Product Marketing teams with concept development, technical analysis, and feasibility investigations for future products.
    • Collaborate with customers, marketing and internal engineering teams to define system architecture and performance requirements for complex mixed-signal IC designs.
    • Determine and analyse hardware/software trade-offs and propose viable solutions.
    • Communicate ideas and specifications to internal and external technical audiences.
    • Advise on, review, and update design specifications and validation test plans.
    • Participate in architecture reviews, IC-level design reviews and board-level design reviews with design, applications, validation, and product test engineers.
    • Be the voice of the customer with internal engineering teams.
    • Perform competitive analysis including lab investigations.
    • Participate in industry conferences and forums to promote Cirrus products and ensure device compatibility with adopted standards.
    • Travel domestically and internationally approximately 4 – 8 weeks per year to work with customers and internal teams.
    • Autonomously manage contending customer and project-related priorities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

    • Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or equivalent), with demonstrably strong and adaptable EE skills across both analogue and digital domains.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Naturally collaborative, able to influence and solve problems across functional teams and the wider organisation.
    • Experience in a customer facing role.
    • Strong analytical skills combined with a logical approach to problem solving.
    • Natural ability to tackle unfamiliar technical problems and learn.
    • Results-oriented and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
    • Able to work to tight timescales.
    • Hands-on lab experience.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

    • Experience in semiconductor product definition, architecting or designing mixed-signal integrated circuits for low power applications.
This position is located in Edinburgh, UK

This is a hybrid remote position and will follow a 2+ day in-office work schedule, with in-office days based on business needs and team preference. You must be based within commutable distance of the work location listed on the job posting, or willing to relocate prior to beginning employment with Cirrus Logic.
