As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic, distributed team responsible for the support and continuous improvement of our critical networks. Alongside your teammates, you will strive toward WAN resiliency through dynamic routing protocols, providing pre-emptive support through an improved focus on monitoring, and scale the business with flawless connectivity to cloud resources and remote offices.

Responsibilities

    • Design, engineer and implement standardized network systems focusing on security and standard methodologies, ensuring that high levels of uptime are achieved.
    • Find opportunities to optimize the functionality, performance, stability and security of existing networks, continuously assessing systems, processes and procedures for possible improvements.
    • Ensure all existing networks operate in a stable manner to minimize system issues and production impact.
    • Work with network team leadership to strategize and develop the overall global architecture
    • Monitoring and diagnosing performance issues using on-prem or cloud systems and tools
    • Designing, writing, and updating both system documents and network diagrams
    • Lead architecture and design efforts of our global network environments
    • Administration and support of LAN/WAN/WLAN technology to include routers, switches, firewalls, Load Balancers, and VPN appliances
    • Installing, configuring, and solving problems various network solutions and architectures
    • Work alongside your colleagues in the Information Security team, ensure the appropriate level of security to safeguard company IP and to meet audit requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree and experience as a Senior Network Engineer supporting a globally distributed engineering enterprise, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Proficient knowledge of network protocols and technologies such as BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP and IPSec tunnels
    • Be a hardworking, positive contributor to an organization equally dedicated to collaboration as it is to success
    • Solid grasp and expert knowledge of networking systems such as routers, switches, firewalls, VPN appliances and load-balancers
    • Ability to lead several projects simultaneously from design to implementation
    • Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues, and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently
    • Expert ability to design, implement and support LAN, WAN, and WLAN infrastructure

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

    • Experience performing network analysis using tools such as Logic Monitor and Splunk
    • CCNP certification, JNCIP-Junos or equivalent
    • Experience using Scripting (Ansible, Puppet, shell) for automation
    • Expert understanding of enterprise network architecture and solutioning.
    • Solid understanding of DC engineering as it pertains to network connectivity and physical architecture.
    • Solid grasp of enterprise system engineering philosophies and protocols.
    • Proficient firewall engineering and management at an enterprise level
    • Foundational understanding of SD-WAN architecture, design and management
This position is based in Edinburgh, UK
This is a hybrid remote position and will follow a 2+ day in-office work schedule, with in-office days based on business needs and team preference. You must be based within commutable distance of the work location listed on the job posting, or willing to relocate prior to beginning employment with Cirrus Logic.
