Introduction:
As Principal Trade Compliance Specialist, you will oversee GlobalFoundries’ export and import compliance activities in Dresden, Germany, ensuring full compliance with all applicable regulations.
Develop and implement procedures for export compliance, maintain export compliance records according to applicable regulations, and perform required reporting to government entities
Provide direction and guidance to internal stakeholders on export compliance matters
Communicate with suppliers, and government agencies to answer questions and resolve export compliance issues
Apply for export licenses (including licenses for deemed exports) and review accessrequests to prevent unauthorized entry/access to certain facilities
Respond to classification requests and monitor export transactions to ensure compliance with all relevant export laws and regulations
Proactively identify and drive process improvement to existing export processes
Prepare and submit license applications according to BAFA and EU national requirements.
Execute trade compliance operations activities
reviews of denied parties list matches to confirm decision for partner release or block within Oracle GTM
assign classifications (ECCN & HTS) and license exceptions to release orders blocked within Oracle GTM for trade control reasons
Act as primary contact for internal stakeholders trade related matters
Relevant Bachelors degree or at least a commercial or skilled worker qualification plus relevant professional experience of 5+ years
Extensive knowledge and understanding of EU and US trade laws and regulations, such as the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
In depth knowledge of EU and Germany export licensing requirements
Familiarity with export compliance processes and procedures, including those related to export control classification numbers, export license conditions/processes,Harmonized System (HS),deemed exports, and dual use commodities
A minimum of three years of experience in export compliance, preferably in the semiconductor industry
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Relevant Masters Degree with 3+ years of Experience
Familiarity with Dual-Use export controls, particularly Categories 3 and 5
Semiconductor or other electronics industry experience
Attended or attainedcertification related to HTS classifications within Germany/EU.
Familiarity with SAP GTS and/or Oracle GTM
Highly motivated with drive to work independently
Team player and able to work cross functionally
Functional knowledge of global export control laws and regulations including,US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR),US Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Sanctions, and Customs
