In the TAM role, no day is the same and you will never be bored! You will interact daily with your assigned customers and will be able to make a real impact in their success as a business. The TAM Team finds nothing more satisfying than seeing a challenge and being able to overcome it. You will be able to manage your own schedule and priorities to help our customers achieve their goals and at the same time, maintain a great work/life balance. Also, you will have the opportunity to become VMware certified if you are not already.
Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
During the first year, you will be onboard into the TAM role and work with your assigned customers.
- The first thing that you will achieve is completing a well-organized five-week onboarding plan that will be prepared for you
- Three months after engaging with your customers, you will be able to articulate their long-term and short-term goals and how they connect to the bigger picture of their business — identifying the gaps that need to be resolved and approving the success plan for them
- Between six to eleven months from your joining date, you will be able to present your achievements while performing the plan using the internal tools and deliverables that we will provide to you. Those will drive your TAM service renewal.
The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
As part of the Customer Success TAM team, you will be working for a long-term period with a number of assigned customers. With them and with the VMware account teams, you will:
- Use your DevOps, architects, operations teams, and management.
- ‘’You will use your technical knowledge in the area of Core VMware VCF technology (vCenter, vSphere, ESXi, vRealize Suite), Storage (VSAN), and Networking (NSX) to help your customers accelerate their product adoption, allowing them to achieve their desired ROI from their products.
- You will support your customers' technical queries, solve technical issues, and present the art of the possible with technology they have not considered. You will also create their custom-tailored technology roadmap with them.
- You will build operational improvement plans for your customers, helping them to keep the lights on with our up-to-date technology.
- You will use your management skills to keep track of your customers' plans, adjusting as needed and driving them to completion.
- You will help VMware create ‘customers for life’ by collaborating with our Global Support, Development, and Sales teams—all to ensure that we drive outcome-focused value to our customers.
- Using the experience that you gain in the field, you will support the global TAM team (as well as the wider VMware organization), helping all of us to improve constantly.
- Do you like to think outside the box? Use your skills to help your customers push technology to the limit and increase product adoption and consumption.
- Basic vSphere Platform knowledge
- Strong communication skills, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Effective at working independently and in a virtual team setting
- Having VCP or VCAP in vSphere or other track is an added advantage.

This role will be reporting to the Senior Manager in Singapore.
Rahul has been with VMware for 14+ years handled different roles in support and services, strongly believes in growing highly impactful customer success Technical Adoption Management organization in Singapore.
This role offers cross-skilled technical learning opportunities, which allows TAMs to be part of customers' extended operations team, drive key strategic technical initiatives, and advocate for the customer internally within VMware. The TAM team in ASIA consists of 4 Regions (Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan) with more than 50+ team members.
Where is this role located?
The current opening is for the Singapore region. It is an on-site service offering role from VMware; hence, the TAMs will travel to the customer site within the city to cover the customer delivery.
