The Role:
Our site in Colorado Springs, Colorado is seeking a Metrology Engineer to join our dynamic onsite team! If hired into this exciting role, you will report into our Quality Engineering Supervisor. You will have the opportunity to provide support and leadership for all key quality processes and established quality standards, with an emphasis on metrology. Examples include maintaining, programming, and troubleshooting metrology equipment and driving all aspects of plant-related QA activities as needed, including but not limited to creating inspection methods, training inspectors and technicians, coordinating QNs, generating reports, managing or supporting projects, and completing process audits.
What You'll Do:
Drive a “Safety First” culture by performing equipment, process, and behavioral audits, and recommending/implementing solutions to risks
Be the expert and key point of contact for the troubleshooting, repair, and qualification of measurement equipment.
Use specific Entegris systems to generate data, reports, and metrics supporting key product/process indices and/or customer requirements.
Prioritize, direct, and coordinate work activities with other team members.
Keep site leadership and other stakeholders apprised of detailed progress of all projects, works in progress, and material issues.
Assist with training site personnel in all phases of their responsible work areas.
Develop and optimize process monitoring, sampling, and process auditing.
Prepare long-term strategic plans regarding current and future metrology equipment choices. Provide recommendations for metrology capital equipment purchases.
Perform audits around production, quality, equipment/tooling, and systems to assure compliance to the documented procedures and customer specifications.
Initiate and participate in continuous improvement activities to improve throughput, yields, and/or reduce costs. Lead teams through the Change Management process to implement these improvements.
Drive 8D root cause investigation and corrective actions using problem solving tools and methodologies to assure closure of issues/events and prevent recurrence.
Set up and continuously improve SPC data collection interfaces.
Author and/or reviews standard operating processes, test specifications, and other documents for accuracy.
Work with metrology equipment suppliers to develop service contracts and coordinate non-routine work.
What We Seek:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or an Associate Degree (AS) in engineering with 2+ years of QA experience
1-5 years' experience in quality, process, or industrial engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Excellent communication skills, both orally and written, at all plant organizational levels. Ability to present technical data to all levels of an organization
Experience with applicable quality tools such as Pareto, FMEA’s, SPC/SQC, histograms, trend analysis, design of experiments, cause and effect diagrams, 8D problem solving methodology.
Strong attention to detail, active listening skills, willingness to learn, be hands on and work independently in a fast-paced dynamic manufacturing environment
Proficiency with MS Office (i.e. PPT, Word, Excel).
Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
Experience with metrology equipment and/or programming
A Six Sigma Green Belt
Experience with Visio, Teams, and Power BI
Experience in ERP systems (i.e. SAP), SPC software (i.e. camLine), metrology programming software (i.e. PCDMIS, Measuremind, etc.), and quality systems software (i.e. EtQ).
