SUMMARY:

As a Product Engineer in the Power Management Group, you will be part of a focused team that develops, qualifies, and releases new Power Management semiconductor products while also maintaining an active portfolio of released Power Management products. Power Management Product Engineers drive innovation and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, dynamic environment using rigorous statistical methods. The position focuses on new product introductions, product sustaining, improving yields and maintaining quality for all assigned products to ensure customer expectations are exceeded. The Product Engineer interfaces with Design, Applications, Test, Packaging, Reliability, Operations and Quality Engineering teams. Position based onsite in Richardson, Texas.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct ownership of Product Engineering deliverables for new product introduction (NPI) and product sustaining efforts.
  • Direct ownership of NPI test plan development. Includes debug, validation, and release to production of the test solution.  
  • Ensure on time completion of NPI and sustaining deliverables to meet project schedules for all owned products.   
  • Compile and analyze data using common statistical tools and techniques (time-series analysis, CPK, SPC, ANOVA). Effectively present key results and recommended actions from the data analysis to internal and external customers.
  • Analyze product performance to ensure manufacturability and data sheet compliance. This includes setting the optimal test screening limits, guard-bands, and outlier controls in production test plans.
  • Provide thorough and detailed test data analysis on initial NPI designs and revisions during product development cycle. Identify test solution deficiencies and implement improvements to any deficiencies.
  • Develop test plans for NPI prototype and production electrical testing of wafer die-sort and final test of packaged devices. Minimize test costs by implementing test time reduction best practices and efficient test methods.
  • Disposition test yield excursions using data derived from data analysis tools and Product Engineering skills.
  • Practice continuous improvement and yield optimization by tracking test parameters, identifying outliers, uncovering correlations, and troubleshooting process and equipment issues.
  • Support Design, Test and Quality Engineering teams with product qualifications, failure analysis, customer returns and alternate vendor sourcing approvals.
  • Employ appropriate Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles to reduce variability in product performance.
  • Effectively interface and communicate with Design Engineering, Test Engineering, Package Engineering, Customer Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering, Product Quality Engineering and Operations (US and Asia locations), as needed for Product Engineering support.
  • Manage Change Projects (CP) for owned devices. Lead CP teams to ensure smooth changes with no quality or production disruptions. Provide technical guidance to the CP teams. Provide PE support to the change project.   

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required. Master’s degree preferred.  
  • 3+ years of semiconductor Product Engineering experience required. Test Engineering experience desired.
  • Analog / Digital / Mixed signal semiconductor technology experience required.
  • Experience with power management, PMIC, motor control, battery management integrated circuits preferred. 
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis methods and using statistical software required. (Spotfire, JMP, Excel, etc.)
  • Flexibility to attend regular evening and early morning meetings required, to interface with Global teams.
  • Time management skills for balancing multiple high-priority activities required.
  • Must have strong attention to detail, be self-motivated and able to achieve results with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interface effectively and to build consensus with coworkers at every level of the company.
  • National and International travel required. Combined travel requirements approximately 6 weeks a year. No more than two weeks duration at a time.
