Position Summary:

SkyWater Technology’s Defect & Metrology team is seeking an experienced Defect Engineer with a strong background in data science/analytics. The candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining a defect reduction roadmap to meet business requirements and establishing inline defect trend monitoring to identify & enable yield improvement projects. An experienced engineer to the defect team must have a strong knowledge of semiconductor processing, familiar with using defect investigation tools, and be proactive about continuous improvement projects. Individual must be well rounded with a bias for action and not afraid to approach and tackle unknown factory related problems.

Responsibilities:

•  Develop and follow a defect reduction roadmap.
•  Review & respond to fab defect trends using statistical process control principles.
•  Learn defect recipe creation on all defect inspection tools.
•  Use data analytics to establish metrics and detect patterns/trends to drive root cause corrective action, yield improvements and scrap reduction.
•  Lead defect reduction projects and root source finding activities with the defect team.

Required Qualifications:

•  Education: B.S. degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Device Physics, or other related engineering or technical degree
•  7 years relevant work experience / semiconductor processing knowledge.
•  Knowledge and understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
•  Data mining/analysis skills.
•  Excellent communication, interpersonal, initiation, and troubleshooting skills.
•  Knowledge of basic computer applications and reporting skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
•  Experience with Python, SQL, JMP for data analysis is a plus.
•  Experience with Synopsis Odyssey or Onto Discover defect management systems is a plus.

US Citizenship Required: This position will require the holding of or ability to obtain government security clearance which requires U.S Citizenship.
