We are looking for an experienced equipment technician with a background in semiconductor equipment maintenance to join our equipment team at our Beaverton, OR location. Areas within the fab include Implant, Epi, Plasma Etch, Wet Etch, Diffusion, Photolithography, Thin Films Deposition, and CMP.
The responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Monitor equipment in the area and be familiar with equipment and process related issues within the module.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance (PMs) and repairs.
- Create/Modify procedures and PM specifications to improve tool availability or enhance training of other technicians.
- Troubleshoot tool issues to root cause. Publish findings to the team in a timely fashion and present recommendations to avoid similar future failures.
- Project management. Special projects will be assigned to improve tool reliability and reduce scrap risk on equipment failures. Projects include:
- Leading equipment upgrades, modification and installation.
- Interfacing with tool vendors on tool recovery.
- Acquiring quotes with competing bids and submitting PRs with detailed justifications.
- Reporting on project status on a regular basis.
- Ensuring timelines are met and escalating when metrics are at risk of missing target.
- Perform data analysis of tool performance on assigned tool and drive improvement activities based on data.
- Use Statistical Process Control (SPC) to troubleshoot and determine the health of tools in the area.
- Maintain a clean working area and continue with 5S principles during repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Follow safety procedures and expectations which includes knowledge of hazards and necessary precautions for assigned tool set(s) and following Lock out/Tag Out procedures. Adhere to all clean room protocols and procedures.
- Maintain electronic logs and attend pass down meetings.
- Broad knowledge of electronic, mechanic, robotic, pneumatic, vacuum, chemical, and gas delivery systems related to semiconductor manufacturing.
*Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Electronics/Electromechanical/Laser technology/Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology
- Five or more years of experience as an equipment technician maintaining semiconductor processing equipment
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and follow up.
- Ability to troubleshoot to component level when necessary.
- Experienced in the use of schematics, hand tools, DVM, oscilloscope, power supply calibration equipment and similar common diagnostic test equipment.
- Able to lift/push/pull/carry up to 35lbs unassisted.
- Able to lift/push/pull/carry more than 35lbs with assistance.
