This position reports to the Chief HR Officer and will be responsible for the Employee Relations and Compliance function of Qorvo, US, Inc. This will be a hybrid role (3 days in office and 2 days remote) and can be based in Greensboro, NC or Richardson, TX.

 

The Director will drive an innovative Employee Relations (ER) and Compliance strategy to provide proactive support and solutions, with an emphasis on development, standardization and compliance with internal company policy, process and external federal and local legal requirements; the identification, analysis and resolution of complex ER issues; corporate level ER investigations; performance management and progressive discipline; development and administration of immigration compliance program elements; affirmative action and equal employment opportunity compliance program elements; and proactive training, and data trends and analytics.

 

The position works closely with HR Business Partners, internal and external counsel and requires an individual who has significant employee relations experience, deep subject matter knowledge, and strong communication and interpersonal skills that enable him/her to work successfully on a broad spectrum of employee relations issues and projects.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Employee Relations

  • Develops and designs employee policies, practices, and programs to ensure a consistent approach enterprise-wide
  • Provides effective service, support, consultation and resolution of ER inquiries, issues, and investigations through the informed application of company policies, programs, procedures, and federal/state laws
  • Investigates escalated matters and legal charges; assists internal counsel with preparation of legal responses to complaints or charges
  • Maintains confidential and appropriate records of all inquiries and complaints, including follow up and resolution

Compliance

  • Oversees HR compliance programs across a variety of areas including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action, and Immigration
  • Coordinates the development and implementation of HR compliance strategies and guidelines, including assessing areas of opportunities for improvement
  • Coordinates response to OFCCP compliance audits
  • Partners with HRBPs and across the business in support of audit activity which may include Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), ISO, IATF and customer audits
  • Collaborates at all levels of the company to ensure the successful execution of immigration program and strategy
  • Partners closely with immigration counsel to ensure compliance requirements are met and manage vendor relationships to provide an exceptional employee experience
  • Helps define long term strategic goals for the Immigration program that align with company and functional objectives and culture
  • Creates and assesses program metrics to determine program effectiveness and influence Qorvo’s immigration strategy going forward with data driven recommendations
  • Manages Analyst responsible for the administration of the Immigration program; provides consultation on complex and high-level matters

Related Responsibilities

  • Provides subject matter expertise to HR and business leaders on matters related to ER, Compliance, and Immigration
  • Proactively analyzes ER, Compliance, and Immigration legal developments in Qorvo’s local markets and recommends courses of action to ensure legal compliance and alignment with Qorvo’s operational approaches
  • Researches and shares external information on ER, Compliance, and Immigration trends, best practices, and emerging issues
  • Develops educational materials and training to educate HR and internal customers on ER, Compliance, and Immigration policy, regulation updates, and program changes
  • Builds external network and actively participates in professional groups to ensure understanding of industry trends, market conditions and current practices
  • Other HR duties as assigned

 

EXPERIENCE

  • 8-10 years of ER and Compliance experience with an emphasis on employee relations work
  • Proven experience leading within a multinational company
  • Experience in program management of Affirmative Action Plans
  • Experience with OFCCP audits strongly preferred
  • Experience driving large programs across multiple functions
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience
