The Role
The architectural design verification group is looking for engineers to develop and debug core-level DV infrastructure to verify custom CPUs.
You'll be involved with test planning, writing functional models of the CPU, developing random test generators and implementing configurations and methodology. Test writing will be both in assembly language and C.

We are a tightly-knit, fast-paced team who work extremely closely with our design and architecture partners to ensure no bug is left behind.
What you’ll do
- Design and debug core-level test bench infrastructure.
- Debug functional model and RTL design using core-level tests.
- Responsible for assembly language test writing and generation, debug failures, evaluate coverage of design.
- Perform test planning and development.
- Define block level and full-chip level software environments for server-class microprocessor-based SoC.
- Create test plans for unit-level and chip-level verification
- Implement test benches and verification environment
- Generate tests, debug failures, evaluate coverage of design
- Debug post-silicon system level failures
- Mentor junior level design verification engineers
What you already bring to the table
- Deep understanding of CPU architectural concepts.
- Expertise in C++, Python and assembly language.
- Solid understanding ofhigh-performance multi-core processor architecture and microarchitecture, especially OOO memory and cache coherency protocols
- System Verilog and UVM design methodology.
- 8+ years’ experience in test bench development.
- 5+ years' experience with complex software projects, including design verification methodology, random test generator development or instruction set simulator design.
- Solid understanding of high-performance microprocessor architecture concepts.
- Good understanding of verification methodology.
- Knowledge of x86 or ARM architecture a plus

- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering

Pay and Benefits
Ampere offers a competitive total rewards package that includes base pay, bonus, stock, and comprehensive benefits. The full base pay range for this role is between $170,000 and $284,000. We also offer an annual bonus program tied to internal company goals and annual meritocratic stock awards that enable our employees to participate in the success of the company.
