Job Summary & Responsibilities
Electro-Mechanical technicians are trained in the use of devices and test equipment associated with the calibration and alignment of various equipment. The technician will be responsible for the installation of hardware, software, and troubleshooting of electrical control systems, automation, and optical systems used in the inspection equipment front end modules (EFEMs) area. System technicians may work with design and manufacturing engineers to provide assistance in the development, installation, and operation of new electronic systems and/or sub-assemblies.
Knowledge should include: 1) electronics; 2) optics; 3) digital and analog circuitry (development and analysis) 4) microprocessor hardware and programming; 5) control systems.
- Calibrate electrical systems in preparation for final system qualification/certification
- Alignment and calibration of automation systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair Electronic and Photonic systems to Optical, board and on occasion component level.
- Identify problems and notify appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components; instruments, electrical, optical and mechanical assemblies.
- Determines and may develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams.
- Tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems. May complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing.
- Work in a class 10,000/1,000/100 clean room environment.
Qualifications
Associate of Science degree (A.S.) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology, Optical Systems Technology or equivalent from two-year College and/or military equivalent.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and schematic diagrams.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
