The Role:
Our facility in Burnet, TX is seeking an Engineering Technician to expand our new product development group, working closely with our engineers and chemists. This person will have an opportunity to broaden their technical skill set and support new product development on a dynamic team in a growing organization. Entegris is seeking a highly motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment where safety, quality and continuous improvement are paramount. You will be a key player on a dynamic R&D/New Product Introduction team to oversee the development and deployment of both solid and liquid chemistries for the company’s Advanced Deposition Materials group. Challenges will vary depending on the industry needs which will require innovation and multi-faceted solutions.
What You’ll Do:
- Supports day to day activities that may include synthesis, purification, sublimation and filling of containers with different chemistries for customers practicing appropriate safe practices.
- Supports root cause analysis on customer returns
- Assist in turning a concept into a prototype.
- Contribute to improvements for a lower cost process.
- Assist in troubleshooting hardware, chemistry issues, PSEs and quality issues.
- Pull chemistry samples and submit to the lab for analysis
- Fill different sized canisters/ampules with chemistry and package as a finished good product
- Laboratory maintenance including PM, ordering supplies, cleanup and waste disposal;
- Work safely and ensure the safety of co-workers, while striving for zero safety incidents.
- Wear proper PPE as required;
- Frequently lift 50lbs and push up to 130lbs;
What We Seek:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience (2+ years) of increasing responsibilities in a chemical manufacturing industry.
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in a technical field would be beneficial.
- Excellent organizational skills, including the proven ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment;
- Ability to understand and work effectively in a culturally diverse organization;
- Functional knowledge of using SAP.
- Demonstrated experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment practicing appropriate safety principles.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in training technicians on complex distillation, sublimation and fill processes;
- Exhibited strong safety culture and drive to improve
- Independently executes and performs most work tasks according to general direction and operational objectives.
- Direct experience on Synthesis and Glove Box equipment;
- Experience working in glove boxes and vacuum systems.
- Comfortable navigating PLC controllers
- Create and manage work instructions, SOP’s
- Knowledge of inventory management; SAP experience is a plus;
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45000
- Strong technical problem-solving capacity with an eye for practicing safety
