WORK LOCATION: Colorado Springs, CO
This role will pay $20-$29/hr based upon experience.
Must be available to work onsite 40 hours per week from late June into December 2024.
Core Purpose:
Working with EHS and site project management, the EHS Co-Op will manage and lead various aspects of a new plant start up process to include numerous Pre-Start Up Safety and Management of Change tools. This will lead to proactively managed EHS programs to ensure processes and equipment are properly planned and installed for the new facility start up. This Co-Op will also support the ongoing chemical safety program at the Arrowswest Location.
In this role, you will:
• The EHS co-op will manage various EHS Programs, processes and forms for the installation and startup of systems to include:
• Developing and enhancing chemical inventories, storage and labeling criteria for both locations.
• Establishing Room and Process area safety signage.
• Help create necessary EHS training for various groups of the new facility.
• Coordinate with project managers for various EHS Programs and forms to ensure new chemicals and processes equipment have been properly evaluated by all parties:
• EHS Hazard Assessment Tools
• New Chemical Approval and inventory
• Process Safety Management program
• Pre-Start Up Safety Review Checklist
• Process Hazard Analysis
• Job Safety Assessment
• PPE Assessment
• Industrial Hygiene Risk Assessment
• Ergonomics Assessment

Desired Majors:
Studies closely related to Environmental, Health and Safety or Chemical / Mechanical Engineering at the Bachelor's or Master's levels.
Physical Requirements:
Position entails sitting, standing, walking, climbing of stairs and ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs. on occasion, working around machinery and chemicals.
