RF Power Amplifier and Module Designer (Wi-Fi)
Skyworks Solutions is seeking a RF power amplifier and module designer for its Diversified Analog Solutions business unit at its location in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. This candidate will join a diverse team of RFIC, Analog IC and Module designers assisting in the concept, design, integration, and delivery of complex multichip, multi-technology RFIC-based wireless module solutions for Wi-Fi and Infra applications.

The candidate will be involved in all aspects of product realization and work with an extended cross-site team to validate and deliver high-performance RF products from concept to high volume markets.
Job Responsibilities
• Design of RF power amplifiers and related circuits for Wi-Fi using GaAs, GaN, SOI, or SiGe
• Lab testing and characterization of highly integrated Wi-Fi and Infrastructure Front end modules, PAs, LNA
• Hands on design responsibility including overview of detailed IC layout, lab evaluation, and back-fitting of designs.
• Presentation of detailed design reviews including all aspects of design: IC, Package, EM, & Thermal.
• Communicate with employees at all levels in the organization and be able to demonstrate excellent
• Problem solving, data analysis, and critical thinking skills.
• Develop and support all aspects of product development from feasibility to mass production
Qualifications
• BS in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Physics, or equivalent degree
• 2 years of industry or combination with equivalent post-graduate academic experience (Master’s, or Ph.D.)
• Experience with RF testing with an ability to supervise characterization and debugging of designs using RF test equipment.
• Strong knowledge of power amplifiers including modes of operation, matching, bias, and architecture considerations.
• IC tape out experience in Silicon, GaAs HBT, GaN, or other relevant semiconductor technology.
• Strong EM knowledge with including experience with passive components including couplers, baluns, and matching networks.
• Expertise with Keysight ADS, and/or Cadence and associated simulation engines and data displays.
• Experience with EM simulators such as Momentum, HFSS, and EMX
• Familiarity with a modern scripting or coding language is a plus
• Familiarity or experience with Wi-Fi and other associated standards is a plus
