SkyWater is searching for an Alternate Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to assist the FSO in development, implementation, and maintenance of security procedures. Will be crucial in SkyWater’s ability to procure and maintain relationships with customers within various industries including the U.S Government. Responsibilities:

  • Assist the FSO with the overall security program, and perform as the Acting FSO in the FSO’s absence.
  • Perform as the Alternate COMSEC custodian.
  • Collaborate with a dynamics team to assist with Physical Security duties and campus Security-In-Depth
  • Interact with internal and external customers and U.S. Government Security and Law Enforcement Agencies.
  • Perform administrative security support functions.
  • Assist with Insider Threat and Security Investigations
  • Maintain/Enhance integrity of personnel and procedures required to protect classified and sensitive information and material per the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
  • Track and administer personnel security clearances in government systems (DISS) and work with candidates to obtain/maintain security clearance records.
  • Perform self-inspection and review of security processes to ensure compliance with relevant laws.
  • Provide security briefings, debriefings, and security training for site personnel.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (4 years)
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience working directly in a U.S. Government Security career field
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)
  • Familiar with National Industrial Security Program
  • Administrative experience tracking and record keeping
  • Familiar with auditing and compliance
  • Security Clearance: A Secret security clearance is required on hire.  Must be able to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance and pass a polygraph.
  • Physical Demands: Occasionally lifting 25 or more pounds, carry boxes, be able to wear a clean suit in a clean room for several hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Security, Intelligence, or Law Enforcement field
  • Previous experience in Industrial Security and/or Government Contracts. 
  • Experience with National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) requirements and the practical implementation of requirements. 
  • Familiar with government security program management including: Defense Information System and Security (DISS), Defense Information System, National Industrial Security System (NISS), and Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission (SWFT). 
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and gain consensus from stakeholders on solutions to security problems.
  • Security Clearance:  A current Top Secret security clearance.
