Manufacturing IT Software Engineer The NXP Manufacturing (MFG) IT organization is looking to hire an Experienced Software Engineer for supporting the Manufacturing Execution Systems at our Austin, Texas and Phoenix, Arizona based 200mm semiconductor wafer fabs. The MFG IT organization is a collection of software developers, system engineers, and application administrators that work closely with factory users to deliver high quality and highly stable software systems. The ideal candidate will work under minimal direction to maintain and develop existing software systems as well as design new software systems of moderate complexity. This is a great opportunity for a candidate with a desire to excel in Agile and DevOps methodologies along with using data analytics for problem solving and improvements. GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Play a pivotal role in providing ongoing support for manufacturing applications, coordinating enhancements and upgrades, and driving best known methods Join a team of software developers and sustainers that ensure factory requests are complete and functional, meeting all stated requirements Create detailed design specifications, code, test scripts and documentation for complex software systems using agile development methodologies Develop prototypes, proof of concepts, and/or production code to solve manufacturing problems based on factory requirements Participate in key user groups, collaborate with peers, and be prepared to provide presentations on related subject matter Provide remote consultation / support for multiple facilities across NXP Be engaged with and support our Tier 1 sustaining support model by documenting standard work for IT related issues / health checks QUALIFICATIONS: B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field Working knowledge of software programming, data analytics, and code repositories Motivated team player with excellent planning, organization, problem solving, and communication skills Demonstrated ability to present information, provide project updates, and interact with various target audiences Ability to set own priorities, strong attention to detail, and timely follow through Experience with Java/Grails platform software development Experience with Linux shell scripting, Perl, Python, and/or SQL Familiar with all phases of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Passion for Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD) and Continuous Testing (CT) methodologies is a plus NXP is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer regardless of age, color, national origin, race, religion, creed, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, marital status, status as a disabled veteran and/or veteran of the Vietnam Era or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.
